The Smart Protocol: Beyond Mercury-Free Dentistry to 100% "Mercury-Safe."

Healthy tooth with leaf. Isolated on a white background.

We use a detailed protocol to lower the risk of contamination, including:

  • Amalgam separator to collect mercury waste
  • Providing the option to ingest an adsorbent
  • Each room has a Swiss IQ high-volume air purification
  • Protective gowns and covers are available to wear
  • Dental dams and saliva ejectors to reduce mercury exposure
  • Everyone wears non-latex nitrile gloves
  • Additional air ionization systems and mercury filters

Mercury, silver, tin, copper, and zinc make mercury fillings. This mixture is 45 to 55 percent elemental mercury, which studies have shown is toxic and poses a danger to your health. The filings release mercury vapor at a high rate during cleaning, chewing, brushing, placement, or removal. We remove amalgams safely, or they can release mercury particles and vapor harmful to you, the dentist, and the environment.

Mercury can accumulate in the body over time, so it is essential to remove these fillings correctly. The procedure is not complicated and doesn't consume much of your time. However, removing a silver filling may expose you to high levels of mercury that are 1000x the EPA's estimate of a safe level. Our team does everything we can to reduce this risk by following IAOMT guidelines to create a mercury-safe environment.

Oxygen Ozone Therapy for Optimal Oral Health

Underwater fizzing air bubbles on white background.

Mother nature creates the ozone when waves break on the ocean or lightning and thunder fill the skies. The smell of ozone is the fresh, clean smell you experience at the beach or after a thunderstorm. Ozone is a highly active form of oxygen that can stimulate healing by restoring healthy cellular energy production and promoting blood flow and oxygen delivery to the areas of your body that need it the most. This process establishes an environment where healthy tissue can thrive and harmful bacteria and microorganisms cannot.

Ozone gas neutralizes acidity in the mouth and is an excellent preventive treatment option to help you avoid more invasive procedures. It is 35 times more potent than chlorine but leaves no harmful chemicals or byproducts when used in the proper amount. It is one of the best holistic procedures for fighting periodontal disease, disinfecting deep decay, and controlling the natural balance of oral biofilm.

Root Canals with Ozone Gas

Ozone gas is used during root canal procedures to sterilize and kill bacteria around the canal system and improve healing. The gas can flow into areas beneath the gum into places difficult to access with regular dental tools. After your root canal procedure, we use ozone gas to disinfect the canals before sealing to eliminate all bacteria. We perform ozone therapy with all our root canal treatments,  and other services at no extra cost as part of our high-quality care.

Fluoride Free Options

Image of happy little girl smiling

The use of fluoride has been a highly debated subject for many years, and the most common point of agreement is that high fluoride levels can produce potential adverse side effects. Studio Z Dental is committed to providing the safest treatments, including fluoride-free dentistry options.

Dental enamel can break down due to demineralization from insufficient mineral absorption. These effects can occur for many reasons, including sensitivity issues, medication side effects, poor diet or oral hygiene, and thousands of environmental and genetic indicators. To ensure you absorb the minerals, you must keep your teeth strong; we offer several treatments and products to reverse demineralization and achieve a healthy balance. For more information, give our helpful and friendly staff a call!

Biocompatibility

Today, many substances not used 50 years ago can cause severe sensitivity issues. The health effects of these materials are different for everyone. They could be highly toxic to one person but no problem for someone else. Biocompatible materials are compatible with living tissue and can perform as desired without causing adverse systemic problems or negative side effects in the body. We offer biocompatibility testing to patients concerned about certain dental materials' impact. Biocompatibility testing also involves:

  • Identifying sensitivity issues
  • Test the levels of existing toxins

Biocompatibility testing is vital for those with allergies because their immune system is already compromised. Dealing with additional toxins may exacerbate the condition. If you have existing health conditions affecting your immune system, testing can help us evaluate your current health status and make recommendations that support your overall health.

B, Gluten, and Latex Free

As holistic dentists, we are especially conscious of anything we introduce into your body. Many traditional dentists will place composite fillings that contain bisphenol A (BPA). Many federal programs have raised concern about BPA and its adverse effects on some human tissue. BPA mimics estrogen and can interfere with your body's ability to regulate this vital hormone.
All the gloves in our office are latex-free, and our toothpaste and restorative materials are gluten-free. Polishing paste is an inconspicuous culprit causing problems for those with celiac disease. We use only the highest quality materials and products during your treatments, so you can be confident that you won't sacrifice your health to care for your smile.

Meridian Tooth Chart

Image of Large group of people in the form of a tooth.

A meridian tooth chart gives insights into how crucial oral health is to your overall health. The chart is related to the Chinese Medicine acupuncture meridian system. Every tooth connects to several organs, glands, and tissues in your body. Reviewing your dental condition lets you quickly know your overall body health and wellness. If you have a weak body organ, the state of the connected meridian tooth could worsen the situation.

View our interactive chart and discover each tooth's "energetic highway" and how it affects your entire system.
